Chaundra Martino

Chaundra began dancing at Pamelot in Auburn, CA at the age of 7. She studied all styles, became a part of the faculty, and competed in various events. She continued dancing through college and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance from Loyola Marymount University along side a second degree in Fine Arts. While in Los Angeles, Chaundra had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Nick Long, Jason Myre, Holly Johnston, and Justin Giles as well as choreograph for the student dance concerts. Upon graduating, Chaundra traveled the world as a white water rafting guide, dance teacher, and yoga teacher; she worked as a professional tap choreographer for Elite Dance in Elk Grove, the company/competition tap and contemporary choreographer for multiple studios, manager and teacher at Yoga Reclaimed in Auburn, a yoga teacher and movement healer at Trimurti Yoga in India, and a white water rafting guide in California and New Zealand.

Currently, Chaundra lives in Northern California and continues to explore what dance and movement have to offer. When she isn’t in the dance studio, you can find her snowboarding, in yoga class, mountain biking, playing with race cars, and exploring the wilderness. She is beyond grateful for the opportunity to share the stage with such beautiful dancers within SCDT and explore giving back to the community through movement art. She thanks her family and friends for the support and is excited to have SCDT so close to her heart.
